6 Ways to Look More Polished
neat nails: most of this is just having clean cuticles and moisturized hands. paint your nails if you want to but use a q-tip to clean up the edges. i paint my nails often and keep a hand cream in my bags and near my sink
take care of your clothes: even if you have cheap clothes if you take care of them they can last. look at the washing instructions on the tags. i wash and dry all my clothes on delicate/gentle cycle and air dry sweaters, dresses, and basically anything fluffy. for sweats i flip them inside out wash gentle cycle, flip again, then air dry. also keep your clothes stain free. i carry around those tide to go pens just in case i spill something which i do often

smell good: this is not really a look thing but smelling good makes you feel good. first step is to shower often which i feel like i shouldn't have to say but here we are. wear deodorant too if you don't have that blessed east asian gene. finally, find a signature perfume or fragrance mist that you like. i am a perfume collector so for me there are dozens. i would say my signatures are angels share by killian during the colder months, glossier you, and ilio from diptyque. these are all unisex btw. if fragrances irritate you it's as simple as not wearing one but the first two steps are essential because perfume can only mask the smell that already exists
.
find your personal style: again with the technicalities. this is not that easy but once you do it there will be a lot of clarity in your life. i’ll make a follow up post about this soon.
take care of your face: skincare routine, day and night. loads of vids you can watch on that. keep your skin and lips moisturized. side note, moisturize your body too after you take a shower
.
fix your posture: stand and sit up straight. it'll take a while to get used to but your back will thank you. aside from that it makes you seem more confident. also, a lot of people have this thing called anterior pelvic tilt from sitting for long periods of time. you can do exercises to to get rid of it but i am trying to just consciously stand in the neutral spine till it goes away.
